Post: Security Officer – 01 (UR)

Scale of Pay: PB-II Rs. 9300-34800 Grade Pay Rs.4600/-

Who can apply?

• Retired Commissioned Officers from the Armed Forces not below rank of Major or equivalent or equivalent ranks in Central Paramilitary Forces having not less than 15 years of service.
• Officers in service eligible for deputation/lien may also apply for the above position.

Age limit: 50 years as on March 02, 2012

Minimum Educational Qualification: Degree in any subject area of a recognized University

Additional Desirable Qualifications and Job Description:  The RGCB Security Division is a unit within the Department of Administrative Services. This position will be responsible for the identification, development and implementation of enterprise-wide risk-based security programs, standards and strategies as well as architecture for support of security mechanisms. Specific areas of accountability include the protection of critical infrastructure, facilities, physical assets and the research enterprise. The security officer also works closely with the academic and research communities to mitigate their exposure to security risks.

Skills and Competencies

• Ability to remain calm and objective throughout stressful and unpleasant situations required.
• Ability to use electronic equipment including but not limited to PC’s, pagers, two-way radios, cell phones, cameras, copy machines, and telephones.
• Knowledge of disciplinary and grievance procedures of the institute required.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with local law enforcement officials and the general public.
